Chris Wright is disturbed when his dog Nebbi starts giving him advice on his novel. He is even more upset when his wife Janet drugs him, burns the house down, and tries to shoot him. His parrot Kukulkan advises him to leave Boise, Idaho, and "head south," but can't explain why or where the final destination is. Even on his laptop, the characters in his novel warn him of terrible danger.
Someone, or something, is waiting for him down south, and people he's never met are stopping at nothing to keep him from getting there.
Children of a Distant Star is an exciting novel of mystery, adventure, and romance, suitable for all ages. Be sure to "look inside" for a preview!

This is the third book I have read by this author and have been pleased with them all. I find I am impressed in his ability to spin a enjoyable yet complex science fiction story with each story being totally different from the rest.I feel normally authors get better and better as they write series as they spend the time and effort to develop the 'universe' of the series 'lives' within. Many times the first book is much less than those that follow.
I was quite satisfied with the one book only stories, but really do wonder how much better they might become if he was to continue to develop the 'universe' of one of his stories with a series.
Enjoyable fast read. Glad I bought it. Thanks Amazon for recommending this author.

Children of a Distant Star eBook R Bruce Sundrud Reviews
This author is a true story teller. The words the the author puts down in the story along with the characters become real to the reader. The reader becomes immersed in the story and tags along with the characters. You cannot ask for more as a reader.
Fun story for light reading. I enjoyed it and will look forward to some of his other works. There is relatively little character development and no real depth to the story. Not a deep story and not a keeper but still a good read for travel or vacation time or even just to while away an evening.
Well edited. It's great to see a writer who can do that or get it done and done well. Suitable for teenagers and adults.
I AM GENERALLY NOT THAT MUCH INTO SCIENCE FICTION, BUT THIS AUTHOR PUTS A FLARE INTO HIS WRITTING THAT ONCE YOUR ARE HOOKED YOU CANNOT GET FREE. I HAVE READ ALL HIS BOOKS SO FAR AND LOVED THEM!
A pretty good book. I enjoyed it.
Good read but too much unrealistic things. But a fun and interesting book. Something that my teenager grandkids would enjoy.
Mr. Sundrud has a very refreshing approach to Science Fiction The story is not typical and yet kept my interest to the end.
Another explanation of the myths and mysteries around the old civilizations on Earth. Pleasant reading nevertheless and some suspense at the beginning.
